As part of the program, YACWA is happy to present an international keynote speaker:
Fiona Blacke CEO National Youth Agency UK
Fiona Blacke is a professionally qualified youth and community worker with a Masters degree. Born in London the bulk of her professional practice and experience was gained in Scotland in both rural and urban settings, initially as a grass roots worker. She later moved to regional and then national roles supporting policy and practice in the spheres of staff training and development, adult learning and finally youth issues.
Fiona took on the role on Chief Executive of Connexions, a youth and adult support service in UK and in 2004 she joined the Learning and Skills Centre as Executive Director in South Yorkshire and, following their restructuring, Regional Director of Learning and Performance Centre in Yorkshire and Humber.
She has been Chief Executive of the National Youth Agency UK, since the summer of 2007 since when she has driven a radical reshaping and refocusing of the Agency.
Her keynote will focus on topics including youth participation and the criminalisation of young people following the UK Riots in 2011.
Earlybird registrations are now open. Click here to register or find out more about the conference.
Earlybirds close June 15 2012!
